Dance Styles

JAZZ / MODERN – Jazz dance uses modern pop music to teach basic to more advanced technical dance requirements. starting at 3 years old we use a progressive and exciting syllabus that incorporates musical theatre, lyrical, funk and modern styles into the examination work. Students are encouraged by our friendly and professional teachers to develop their own style and presentation skills.

HIP HOP  – Hip Hop is street dance that uses alot of strength and elements of rhythm and style. In our classes students learn tutting, krumping, funk, and musicality. Hip Hop is a great class for students wanting to expand their dance repertoire, or to do something new, or as a class to join with friends to stay strong, fit and healthy. Crew work is a part of our syllabus and we pride ourselves on developing strong teamwork in our classes. Students may start from 5 years old.

BALLETFollowing the RAD syllabus students can start Ballet as young as 2.5 years. Exploring classical themes and using imaginative narrative during classes makes the Ballet experience fun and inspiring for our younger students. 

TAP – Tap dance is a fun dance style using shoes that have metal plates attached to the heel and ball of the shoe. The aim is to produce rhythmic and exciting beats by tapping and brushing the foot on the floor in certain positions a a rapid speed. It is absolutely fantastic to watch and even more fun to perform a tap dance routine. Classes start at 4 years old and up. a mix of modern and piano music is used.

CONTEMPORARY – Contemporary is a form of physical theater/dance where interpretation of music and expression of a theme are the main objectives of the dance. Students start from age 8. Contemporary is a popular dance style for dance companies and modern performances.
