Please see the attached license detailing the fact that Sonia Herron Academy of Jazz is in fact the ONLY studio in the Shatin area currently carrying a license to teach the amazing JazzAddict Jazz syllabus and the Urban Ignition Hip Hop syllabus and to use the Top Tots syllabus and curriculum which are all registered under the Asia Pacific Dance Association.

APDA License for SHAJ

Mrs Sonia Herron has been the APDA representative in Hong Kong since the company was created in 2011, and is the Hong Kong representative for JazzAddict syllabus from 2007 – 2012.

NOTE: RHYTHM DANCE STUDIO HAS NO LICENSE TO CARRY OUT CLASSES IN THESE SYLLABI, they have been granted a temporary permission to allow students to practice for their upcoming examinations which is only valid till May 3rd, however no current teacher at Rhythm Dance has possession of any of the syllabus as all syllabus remained with Sonia Herron when Rhythm Dance suddenly terminated our contract with them on March 1st. No studio within a 7 km radius of Sonia Herron Academy of Jazz may register to use the syllabi according to the APDA policies.

TERM FEES DETAILS WILL BE COMING SHORTLY. ALL CLASSES THIS WEEK ARE FREE OF CHARGE FOR YOUR FIRST CLASS AT OUR NEW LOCATION.

We are offering a solution for the parents who already paid the studio fees at Rhythm Dance Studio but who will not be able to study the Urban Ignition or JazzAddict Syllabus to prepare for their examinations.
If Rhythm Dance refuses to refund parents the term fees for the class, I will offer to those students free classes that are examination preparation classes at the new studio. You will need to register with me asap.
Please spread the word, and I will be available to talk with and discuss the best option for your child tomorrow all day. Only Sonia Herron Academy of Jazz and Twinkle Lam Studios are licensed to use this syllabus to teach classes. Sonia Herron Academy of Jazz is the official representative for the syllabus in Hong Kong.

Shop 42, Greenery Music Centre, 1/F, The Waterside Mall, 15 On Chun Street, Ma On Shan. All classes are free of charge during this 1 week transition period.

Sparkles and Preschool Jazz 10 am – 11am
Junior Hip Hop & Elementary hip hop – 11am – 12pm
Primary Jazz 1 and Primary Jazz examination practice class 12pm – 1pm
1pm – 2pm INTERMEDIATE HIP HOP LEVEL 5 exam!!
2pm – 3pm – Junior Jazz 2 exam practice class
3pm – 4pm – Junior jazz 1
3pm – 4.30pm – Elementary Jazz 1
5.00pm – 5.45pm – Sparkles 3-4 year old level.

2012 is proving to be an exciting year for SHAJ, with new teachers, new classes, and a NEW BABY GIRL for Miss Sonia, Christmas Love Herron. 2012 is already starting with a BANG!!

This term we have welcomed to our staff the Fantastic Greg Herron, Masters in Education and Outdoor Educator, who will begin teaching the exciting and completely new style of class in Adventure Theatre. He has been teaching Maths, Fitness, English, and Health in various countries for the past 12 years. He has trained for qualifications in Outdoor Adventure, Maths teaching, and as a Personal Fitness Trainer. You can find more info in his Online Bio.

We also welcome Cornel Marais, Acrobatics teacher, ex gymnast and director of Playball HK. Cornel will be teaching tumbling in our Acrobatics classes and teaching playball classes for kids.

Examinations are coming up for Jazz, Hip Hop, Theatre, and Ballet. Please take note all exam fees are due by February 11th, you will receive a notice informing you of the dates and fees this week January.

CHINESE NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS – Studio will be closed from Saturday January 21st through to Friday 27th January.
